The Whistler Olympic Village is now a successful, fully functioning residential village within the resort of Whistler.
Tom Barratt Ltd. was the project & coordinating Landscape Architect for the Whistler Olympic Village. This role required close coordination with civil engineers, architects, services, and special needs of the Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC). His office maintained the overall coordinating database assuring accuracy with the different consultants and building contractors.This project was a fiscal success and has become a thriving local community providing much needed affordable housing in Whistler.
The Athlete Village housed 2,800 athletes and officials during the Olympics. The 220 apartments, townhouses and condos in the project are affordable housing for 800 Whistler residents.

- A storm water management system and wetland complex created on site for storm water retention, treatment and habitat enhancement.
